“Real Housewives of New Jersey” star Teresa Giudice will ring in the new year by getting ready for a 15-month-prison sentence at Danbury, but she isn’t going down without a fight. According to the New York Daily News, the reality-TV personality is suing her former lawyer, James Kridel, for $5 million. In court papers, Ms. Giudice claims it’s his fault she’s going to prison, saying he messed up her and husband Joe’s 2009 bankruptcy filing and of later making faulty amendments to the documents. Ms. Giudice, who will serve time after being convicted of multiple counts of fraud, also says her ex-lawyer didn’t properly prepare her for a hearing in bankruptcy court. Mr. Kridel wasn’t immediately available for comment Thursday.

Formula One team Caterham last month was still on the road to return after filing for bankruptcy, and now the flag may have been dropped. According to the Associated Press, the team was given dispensation to start competing again next year with its 2014 car if it finds a buyer in time. “That is of interest to all the parties I’m talking to because it gives them a choice, an easier start to get into F1 if they chose that route,” said the team’s bankruptcy administrator, Finbarr O’Connell. Caterham filed for bankruptcy in October, the same month as Formula One team Marussia, which went out of business.
